Is my contact lens prescription the same as my eyeglass prescription?
No the contact lens prescription is totally different from your eyeglass prescription. Your eye care professional will measure your eyes and fit you in the most appropriate contact lens. Once your eye care professional has finalized your prescription he or she should give you your contact lens prescription.
How long is my contact lens prescription valid?
Contact lens prescriptions have expiration dates. They typically expire 1-2 years from your eye examination. Your eye care professional will write the expiration date on your prescription.
Do I need a copy of my prescription?
No. You will need to supply us with your doctor’s name and information and we will contact your doctor get that information for you. We need to make sure that your prescription is valid.
Why do you need my doctor’s information?
We need the information to verify your prescription. This will reduce the time to process your order.
Why do you need to verify my prescription?
Under the “Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act”, the Federal trade commission stated we are not able to sell contact lenses unless we verify that the prescription is valid with your eye care professional.
How soon will I receive my contacts?
Most orders are processed that same day of purchase. If your contacts are special order then the order will take longer depending on the contacts.
How do I pay?
Contact Lens Giant accepts credit card payments . We accept Mastercard and Visa.
Will my insurance pay for the contact lens?
Contact lens Giant unfortunately does not accept insurance to pay for the contact lens. If your insurance covers contact lenses you can order contacts and submit the proof of purchase to the insurance.
Do you accept Flex Spending accounts?
We accept flex spending account as long as it is paid will a credit card.
Do I need a prescription for colored contacts?
Yes, colored contacts are a totally different fit from any other lens. In order to order you must have a valid prescription from your eye doctor.

Power of the contacts
Sphere-power of the eye . The power can be in plus power or minus power depending on the size of the eye.

Cylinder-power of the astigmatism –these are toric lenses

Axis- the direction in degrees where the astigmatism sits.


Bifocal- will contain an add power

Base curve (BC)-curvature of the contact lens. It needs to have a decimal, such as 8.4 and 8.6.

Diameter-the width of the contact. It needs to have a decimal such as 14.00.

Brand- Type of Lens- for example acuvue.
